Elac Miracord 40 Elac Miracord 90Īnd the rubber on the idler wheel is like brand new.The cartridge that is on it is a Realistic Shure R1000EDT and it looks like a replacement stylus is available from LP Gear. to make a long story short, i inherited my very first turntable, a real turd, from my father. After cleaning up all of this excess oil, it's working like a champ. Then upon removing the platter I also found oil on the inside of the platter (where the idler wheel rides) and on the idler wheel. That was easy enough.Īfter removing the platter mat I found an excess amount of some sort of oil between the mat and platter. So, it looks like it will more than likely need an idler wheel along with a good cleaning and relube.Call it what you will, but I love the '60s and '70s era of vintage turntables!Especially for $25. Deck itself looks very nice, I believe this wood is walnut. HOW could I turn this beauty away - dirty, but all-in-all a very nice Realistic branded ELAC Miracord 46 with the original dustcover and Realistic cartridge? It also came with a Dual 45 adapter but I don't know if that would be original or not to this turntable. It was advertised as non-working, but with a little help to get the platter started, all of the auto functions seem to work, until it stops spinning.
